February 28-applied pre and post emergent spray

March 19-Dormant oil applied

March 24-warm weather, noted hatching tent caterpillars on flowering cherry tree.

March 25-clear pruning

March 30-Captan

April 3– the first Plum Curculio was seen in the orchard-actually dropped on Debra.

April 6– unable to spray Captan

April 23– first spraying of insecticide

Trees went form tight cluster to bloom in a matter of days. Richard should have sprayed, but it was windy and he was unable to spray.

Also, tent caterpillars we seen, which would have been eliminated with the Bt application.

The risk of not being able to spray is that Cedar Apple Rust hits the apple buds at this time.

Rain is expected, so ASAP, the orchard will get sprayed.
